Christian dating frustration
I interviewed several single guys in Los Angeles and New York, ranging in age from 28 to 40.I asked how they felt about dating within their church community and their answers were rather surprising.Being a single Christian in today’s world continues to be increasingly difficult. It hurts my heart every time I hear one of my single friends say, “I’m enjoying being single right now.” If we’re not careful, those words can be decrypted to mean “I’m enjoying my life of selfishness.” Part of the reason many people are choosing a life of singleness is because some singles ministries make being single fun and exciting.
Hence, their dating intimacy had consisted of lingering handshakes, brief hugs, and very few moments completely alone together. God would send me a husband one day; I wanted to be ready! The subject was holiness, being set apart for God's unique purpose in our life.
Most had tried it, yet were left feeling disillusioned in the process.
